Cinema has been around for quite a while, around 120 years to be more precise, and is, along with movies on dvd, a universal way to spend your time with friends, family or even alone. However, a new entertainment has come along and has quickly become a social norm and a basic conversation starter to break the ice with any stranger.

This new way to spend your time has its benefits: it can be short (20min) or a bit longer (40min) according to your need and the amount of time you need to waste or be entertained.

If it has been around for a couple of decades already, this source of amusement has recently become the main source of entertainment around the globe and is eclipsing movies.

As you might have guessed, this new entertainment is TV series. Numerous series are now widely watched, renown or even iconic, defining generations and even affecting new ones (FRIENDS).

For all its benefits, these series are among the main reasons for today’s generation’s laziness. Indeed, they are now more easily accessible than before and we can directly access them on our laptops, spending countless hours fixed on our small screens, forgetting the life happening around us. When movies were once, and still are, screened in open air for everyone to join in and spend a good time with friends and strangers in drive-ins, today we spend our time stuck on the small square that is our computers, binge-watching our favorite shows in the darkness of our rooms.

An entertainment whose purpose was to introduce us to the beautifulness of our big world is now limiting us to the solitude of our rooms.
